The purpose of the Women’s Symphony League of Tyler shall be to support and promote the growth of the East Texas Symphony Orchestra and to encourage music education within our community.
Our organization of over 500 active members is one of the strongest Women’s Symphony Leagues nationally. We work diligently to fundraise to support our East Texas Symphony Orchestra with a guaranteed large sum donation annually. In addition to our financial support, our members serve the ETSO through many volunteer positions helping to feed and house musicians when they arrive in our great city, volunteering at each symphony performance, and helping to raise awareness of the ETSO.
Women’s Symphony League of Tyler is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization comprised of female volunteers in the Tyler, Texas area. WSL of Tyler serves the Tyler community through service hours and promoting music education centered around the East Texas Symphony Orchestra. WSL is also committed to raising a substantial financial donation for the ETSO on a annual basis and awarding scholarships to our Junior Symphony League high school members.
Gifts are directed to the East Texas Symphony Orchestra, our scholarship fund, our education fund and an event honoring our Junior Symphony League at the annual ball where scholarships are awarded.
The Women’s Symphony League of Tyler is led by a Board of Directors, and Executive Board of Directors who operate the organization according to strict bylaws under limited terms. Each financial decision is voted upon by the Board prior to committing any raised funds.
The Women’s Symphony League of Tyler is run by volunteers so the majority of raised funds go to our stated causes outside of a small administrative operating budget.
